Memphis Regional Organic Gardening Resource

non hybrid heirloom tomato seeds

The Memphis region has a lot of natural organic resources available from nursery and garden centers to manufacturers of organic fertilizers and amendments.

We get inquires weekly about finding many of the organic products that are mentioned on our site. Keeping up with it has been a labor of love but has reached the point of being unreasonable. We were stuck until we came up with this idea. Let's just post a new web page for all our Memphis regional businesses to participate and that would both lessen the load here while giving them the opportunity to get the word out about their business. We hope that you enjoy this and that you find it helpful. We encourage all to participate, you do not need to be a business to post information. If you find or know about coupon offers please share it with the rest of us.

Over the years, many of us have come to know Vador Vance from, the poplar Saturday morning radio show on 600 AM, "In The Garden, with Vader and Kenneth" I have trusted Vador's extensive experience with organic growing for years now and I know she has positively impacted many lives. Vador had previously been with Stringers Chickasaw Garden Center in Memphis, but now she has her own location with The Market at Poplar Estates. I think it is wonderful location with plenty of parking and elbow room. For more information please visit Vador's Garden Center

Bokashi Buckets

This Fall I have been working on some new raised beds for use this coming Spring. They have provided a convenient spot to put all those leaves falling off the maple tree.

Earlier this year I began using Bokashi Buckets to recycle all our kitchen waste. I always thought it was a shame that I couldn't do something constructive with all the orange peels we generate in our household. Bokashi Buckets have provided a perfect solution and a great way to build soil in the raised beds all throughout the winter. Bokashi Buckets are a great alternative to composting, especially in the winter months.
