Gardenias and Blue Velvet at The Senior Prom in 1963
My aunt lives in Burbank, CA and she has white gardenias in her yard. I have enjoyed them my whole life, but have always lived in Washington State and I don't see many gardenias here. We have the beautiful state flower; The Rhodie, aka The Coast Rhododendron which was chosen as the state flower by the women (who could not vote at the time)of the state who wanted to have a flower for the World's Fair in 1893. I am going to try root cuttings with the loved Rhodie. I cannot wait to get started. They actually grow prolifically in Washington State. I really enjoy your blogs. I will refer to it on my website blog at Green From The Garden
