Essential 1-PHE (Plant Health Development) is an organic pesticide that not only provides fast knockdown power but strong residual protection as well. This product is made exclusively from organic components and there are no toxic chemicals used. Neither are there any hazardous components used as fillers. This is another quality product from ICT Organics and is perfectly suited for organic gardeners and organic farming operations.
This specialized mixture of three oils, Garlic, Castor and Cedar oil. It also includes White Pepper and Citric acid. While it sounds a bit like a the ingredients of a salad dressing this combination is lethal to insects. Yet it is approved for usage under the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) and is classified as a “minimal risk pesticide”.
When used on turf and lawns this will control Ants, Armyworms, Bill Bugs, Chinch Bugs, Centipedes, Cockroaches, Crickets, Cutworms, Earwigs, Fleas, Grasshoppers, Hyperodes Weevils (adults) Japanese Beetles (adults) Mole Crickets, Mosquitoes, Sod Worms and Ticks.
Essential 1- Plant Health Development
also provides effective perimeter treatments to control Aphids, Ants, Centipedes, Cockroaches, Crickets, Darling Beetles, Fire brats, Fleas, Ground Beetles, Fowl Mites, Mites, Millipedes, Pill bugs, Silverfish, Sow bugs, Spiders, Ticks and Wasps.
You can even use E1-PHE for trees and shrubs to control Mites, Scale Insects, Mealybugs, Aphids Wooly Adelgid, Pine Bark Adelgid, Lace Bugs, White flies, Tenet Caterpillars, Bag worms and Beetles.
What I like best about E1-PHE is how easy it is to work with. Simply shake the bottle well and then measure out 1-3 ounces for each gallon of water and fill up your sprayer. 2 gallons is sufficient to effectively cover 1,000 square feet.
If you decide to use a blower or power sprayer use 6 ounces per gallon of water. This is enough to thoroughly cover 10,000 square feet.
It is important note that you should not this product when the temperature exceed 85F in the shade as a precaution to burning your foliage or during prolonged periods of drought. Instead spray in the early morning hours or after the sun has set. Use every 3-5 weeks as a preventative to infestations or as needed.
Because of the use of oil extracts, you do want to avoid contact with your skin or irritation may occur. If it is accidentally splashed into eyes, rinse thoroughly and seek medical attention if any irritation persists. And please, try to resist the temptation to try it on your salad!
