Organic Gardening For Life!

Organic Gardening For Life is a beginners guide for growing organic vegetable gardens using organic fertilizer, compost and raised beds for naturally healthy and nutritious organic tomatoes and vegetables. organic tomato

Before you begin, there is one critical component that you need to address and that is your soil. The best non-hybrid seeds and the most healthy heirloom seedlings will suffer from the very start if your soil is low in organic matter. The most expensive organic fertilizer will have very little effect if your soil pH is too low and there are insufficient microbes to convert it to energy for your plants.

Organic Gardening increases yields at harvest and provides healthy, nutritious vegetables without the fear of chemical residue.

Isn't it time for you to finally get free of all the toxins that are slowly but surely killing you and your family? This is your wake-up call to go organic. You will help restore your health and benefit the environment at the same time.

YOU CAN DO THIS! I'll tell you how to do it in simple step-by-step instructions and explain why it needs to be done. organic squash

Have a question about organic gardening that you can't find an answer to anywhere else? Your in the right place! I will answer it personally. Nearly every page has a comment form for your convenience or simply go to the contact page listed in the left column. You are going to be amazed at the results you will get when you start working in harmony with nature and stop fighting it!

Organic gardening is much easier when you plant what is native for your particular region.

Please refer to the plant hardiness zone published by the United States National Arboretum while you are planning your garden. This can save you a lot of time, money and aggravation!

Follow what you read here to learn how to balance your soil's chemistry and increase it's fertility. You will learn how to recycle the waste that you would normally throw away and watch as your soil comes to life with energy and vibrancy.

Successful organic gardening starts with an understanding that healthy food comes from healthy soil.

If you want vegetables and fruit packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals and trace elements then you need to get them in your soil first. The only way to know what is present and what is lacking in your soil is to have it tested. For the beginner, a basic soil test is all you need to start. You can have this done for under ten dollars, simply contact your local cooperative extension office for assitance. For those who are more experienced, alternative soil testing laboratories will provide a more technically based solution. Then you can take steps to correct the situation.

If you have the determination to Do-It-Yourself then I am committed to provide you the expert information that will ensure your success!

You do not need synthetic fertilizers when your soil is fertile and you won't need chemical pesticides because insects do not attack healthy plants. You won't need herbicides when you learn to use mulch to help keep weeds at a minimum.
This is the essence of sustainability but many have been led astray by slick marketing tactics that promise miracle growth and instant success with no effort.

Many are familiar with the benefits of organic fertilizer but without microorganisms it can not be converted into energy for you plants to grow. Chemicals destroy microorganisms and damage soil fertility.

Your success requires a basic understanding of how nature works. There are no short cuts. Think about this. Nature has never needed mans help to grow vast grasslands or forests and they have survived thousands of years.

It wasn't until I became so ill that I could no longer work that I finally had a personal awakening, a realization that by changing the quality of the substances that were going into my body I could dramatically change the quality of my life. What will it take for you?

Eliminating all chemicals and toxins in my diet gave me a second chance at life. There is much of nature that we fail to understand despite all our science and technology.

That is why for me, It became Organic Gardening For Life!

Bokashi Buckets

This Fall I have been working on some new raised beds for use this coming Spring. They have provided a convenient spot to put all those leaves falling off the maple tree.

Earlier this year I began using Bokashi Buckets to recycle all our kitchen waste. I always thought it was a shame that I couldn't do something constructive with all the orange peels we generate in our household. Bokashi Buckets have provided a perfect solution and a great way to build soil in the raised beds all throughout the winter. Bokashi Buckets are a great alternative to composting, especially in the winter months.
